MADINAT AL-ZAHRA MUSEUM
In Cordoba, Spain and built in 2009, the Madinat al-Zahra Museum introduces visitors to the archeological remains of a 1000 year old city that included a fortified palace and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The design by Nieto Sobejano Architectos is based on the metaphor of an excavation in its double square plan. The lobby leads to a courtyard and provides a dialog with the landscape. The white walls and corten steel roofs frame views of the spaces. The main lobby leads to a courtyard that organizes the main public spaces.
In Cordoba, try Casa Pedro Ximenez for a wonderful meal.
