TATE MODERN

The former Bankside Power Station has been converted to the Tate Modern by Herzog & de Meuron.

The museum holds the country’s collection of modern and contemporary art and opened in 2000. The five story Turbine Hall is the central exhibition space with escalators connecting multiple levels. A two story glass rooftop space was added. The former oil tanks could be used as gallery spaces and the brick tower extension added more space for exhibits.

After you’ve seen the exhibits, grab something at the Cafe Level 10 for great views of London. Be sure to see this when you visit London.
